Amigo‘s Fund

AMIGO'S FUND was founded to give second chances to animals like AMIGO who, because of abuse and/or neglect require extensive medical rehabilitative care at a cost that is not always an option given the high volume of homeless animals brought to The Humane Society of Grand Bahama, Bahamas Humane Society, and other shelters throughout The Bahamas and the Caribbean.

AMIGO'S FUND will serve to help sponsor Spay/Neuter initiatives for which AMIGO was a compelling and inspiring representative during his lifetime and will endeavor in times of crisis and disaster to help others in need.

AMIGO'S FUND honors the rich potential of our precious 'potcakes'* of whom AMIGO was so shining an example in hope that they too as well as all animals are given their chance to live lives steeped in love and the care they deserve as loyal and beloved friends.

The Kohn Foundation

When founder Ellen Kohn, who owns a second home in West End, Grand Bahama, saw for herself back in 2005 the plight of so many homeless animals she contacted us to find out how she could help. Thus began what has become a wonderful partnership between her foundation and our organization. Ellen Kohn is also a member of our Board of Directors.

The Bahamian Animal Rescue Committee (B.A.R.C.) was formed in April, 2005 to assist the Humane Society of Grand Bahama in their ongoing efforts in West End concerning animal population control, spay and neuter programs, and disease mitigation.

B.A.R.C. has been instrumental in the success of our field spay neuter project which was begun in January 2007. B.A.R.C.-A.N.E.W (Bahamian Animal Rescue Committe - Animal Neutering Education & Welfare), has been a resounding success thus far.

Thanks to The Kohn Foundation, we are now able to accept U.S. tax deductible donations. 100% of all donations made through TKF directly benefit our animals. No deductions are made for administrative or any other costs.
